Evidence of Three Settlement Periods Discovered in Karaftou Cave

TEHRAN Iranian excavators have discovered traces of three settlement periods in Karaftou Cave in Kurdestan Province.
The existing evidence indicates that the cave was settled in the prehistoric era, Sassanid period and Islamic era.
Some coins and pottery dating back to the Sassanid period and also some earthenware dating from the Islamic era have been discovered in the cave.
The Karaftou Cave is located northeast of the town of Divandarreh and is one of the tourist attractions of Kurdestan Province.
